Transition Hanging Lantern

  • 12500

This is a small beauty.  This brass hanging lantern most likely hails from the 1920's.  It was always intended as an electric light but was designed to look like a traditional kerosene lantern.  I have seen similar in a catalogue of vintage lighting.

I love the harps - they have a wonderful Egyptian influence which is why I believe they date to the 20's.

I believe the metal is lacquered brass.  The lacquering is no longer on the metal - my cleaning removed the last.  It is "thin" and only about 6" wide but hangs 37" from ceiling attachment to the bottom.  The lamp was re-wired by Lone Pine Lighting of Dayton, Va
