On a trip to Texas, I found an industrial strength, 5 section Ekco loaf pan.  I saw a shelf but how to hang it?  Well, an old bit; pièces of chain; and two cast iron hooks did the trick.  The resulting shelf is 40.5" long (including the hanger); 13.75" wide and 3.5" deep.  I can see it in the kitchen as a spice rack or in the barn holding curry combs, brushes and etc.  The metal was well cleaned and treated with a sealant to inhibit additional rust.

The bit makes for a curvaceous hanger but my deep sympathies are with the horses who wore it.  That's a long shank and deep port.
