French Linen Damask Cloth and Napkins - Extraordinaire!
This extraordinary set was manufactured in France in the late 19th century. It came to me unused and unfinished. The cloth had been cut off the bolt and the dozen napkins were an uncut length of fabric. I finished the set by hand. The cloth measures 64" x 96". There are a dozen napkins measuring 26" x 31".
The color is most unusual - oatmeal and flax. Of the images, the stack of napkins is best representation of color. The other images were darkened to highlight the design. The linen is very heavy - I've not seen anything like it in all my linen searches. It was purchased from France.
